Why is my SNOO sometimes changing levels without a cry?Updated 11 days ago
First, we want to ensure your baby is positioned on the correct side. The baby’s head should be on the opposite side of the activity button, with their feet pointing toward the button.
If it seems like your SNOO is increasing the soothing levels while your baby is not fussing or crying, the following steps may help:
- If your SNOO is placed near a window or shared wall, please note that outside noise, such as traffic or nearby conversations, can trigger it to respond.
- If it is placed by a sloped ceiling, sounds can trigger SNOO by bouncing off the ceiling. Similarly, if the room has a lot of hard surfaces. Try moving SNOO away from the wall and placing it on a rug.
- Additionally, white noise machines placed close to SNOO may interfere with its cry detection and cause it to react unnecessarily. To fix this, you can try moving the white noise machine further away from SNOO, changing the sound on the white noise machine, or lowering the volume. Please be aware of other sound sources, such as televisions or music players.
- If you haven’t already, try adjusting SNOO’s responsiveness setting in the app. A higher sensitivity may cause it to react more quickly to small movements or sounds. To lower this setting, go to the Profile icon > SNOO > Preferences > Response, and select Very Low Responsiveness.
- If your Soothing Volume is set to “Highest,” it will cause SNOO to become more reactive. Try changing the setting to “High” or “Normal” by navigating to the Profile icon > SNOO > Preferences > Volume.
- Lastly, try rebooting your SNOO. Unplug it from the wall for at least 30 seconds, then plug it back in and allow it to resume normal operation. Power resets can often resolve minor issues or unexpected behavior.
